Best Weekly and Monthly Chore Schedule to Feel In Control of Your House With Kids!

I honestly wish that I was better with this. I have found out that when there is a schedule of things that my husband is in charge of, and that I am in charge of, things just tend to go smoother! Instead of expecting things from him to be done when I get home, he knows that he’s in charge of, and he does it when he chooses to. Sometimes I will ask when he will get a certain thing done, but he rarely ever knows, and I have found out it’s better sometimes not to ask.

Here’s an example of our weekly chore schedule:

Monday: Vacuum and dust all rooms (I would say we dust every other week)

Tuesday: Clean the bathrooms

Wednesday: Change bed linens and do laundry

Thursday: Organize and declutter one area of the house

Friday: Clean the kitchen

Saturday: Start and or Finish Meal Prep there are knives for kids so they can help you too!

Sunday: Finish Meal Prep if you Haven’t Already:)

Every Day After Supper: Try to do a 10 minute pick up, where your kids and husband walk around and pick up things they got out before watching a show. Play some fun music, have places that are easy for the kids to see so they put away their toys where they belong instead of putting them on the table..like mine do..most of the time:)

And here’s an example of a monthly chore schedule:

Week 1: Deep clean the kitchen (oven, fridge, cabinets)

Week 2: Wash windows and clean window sills

Week 3: Organize and declutter a specific area (closets, garage, etc.)

Week 4: Clean out the refrigerator and pantry

Living in a clean and picked up house can have a positive impact on our minds. It can create a sense of calm and reduce feelings of stress and anxiety. A tidy environment can help improve concentration and productivity as there are fewer distractions. Additionally, living in a clean space can promote a sense of pride and well-being, contributing to overall mental and emotional health.

I need to add that if you don’t get these things done because you don’t feel like it, that is totally and completely OKAY. You are not a bum if you don’t stick to this schedule. Just remember that even making it is a WIN, actually following through is a super duper bonus you should reward yourself with a nice long bath after kids go down.:) I hope this helps!:)
